My training, work and life experience have instilled profound respect and compassion for struggles with depression, anxiety, trauma, sexual abuse, addictions and other compulsive behaviours, grief and loss, financial stress and poverty, work-life balance, relationships and existential strife. Each of us has our own unique road to travel in coping with these and other mental health and life issues toward personal growth, peace and deeper connection with all parts of ourselves and the larger world we live in. I believe we all have our own internal road map - in therapy, we explore where you are now and where you'd like to go, sharing your experience of the terrain of your past, present and future in a warm, safe and non-judgmental space. A space that welcomes you as a whole person, with all of your human, yet unique, complexities in mind, body, heart and spirit. Seeking out and entering psychotherapy can feel like another daunting step on the pathway, especially when we've reached a painful impasse, a road-block in some area of our lives that feels insurmountable on our own or even with the support of loved ones. It's very important that the therapist you choose to work with is 'right' for you. I have 6 years of experiential and academic training in psychodynamic psychotherapy and lifespan development through the Ontario Psychotherapy and Counseling Certificate Program, following on 25+ years in social justice, public policy and non-profit work involving advocacy, communications, management and website development consulting and writing.
