Burn Design Lab Information

We believe that people everywhere, even in the world's poorest places, should be able to cook their meals, without harming their health, their children's health, or the environment. To this end, the mission of Burn Design Lab is to improve lives and the environment through research, design, and development of outstanding cook stoves and fuels. We follow an iterative design approach, going through multiple cycles of conceptual design, computer aided design, prototype fabrication, user research, and laboratory & field testing. We also partner with local manufacturers and implementers to address issues of cooking traditions, user engagement, and culture as an integral part of the design process.
