bthechange CIC is an award-winning Community Interest Company working across the South West of England and South Wales, supporting people at risk of entering, involved in, or moving forward from the criminal justice system. We work particularly alongside racially minoritised people, women and first-time entrants, providing practical, relational and person-centred support that recognises the whole person — their experiences, strengths, circumstances and ambitions. Our approach is built around a simple belief: lasting change happens through relationships, not transactions. Our diverse team combines professional expertise with authentic human experience, enabling us to build trust and work effectively alongside people experiencing complex challenges. Our work includes prison-to-community transition, mentoring, substance use support, housing and welfare, benefits and debt, employment, neurodivergent-inclusive support and practical crisis intervention. But our work doesn't stop with the individual. We recognise that people's outcomes are also shaped by the policies, processes, cultures, attitudes and institutions around them. That's why we work alongside criminal justice agencies, commissioners, statutory partners and communities to improve practice, challenge inequality and influence wider system change. Through frontline delivery, independent scrutiny, training, consultation and partnership working, we bring the human experience into the rooms where decisions are made. Our diversity isn't something we simply talk about — it is reflected in who we are. Our team brings together different cultures, backgrounds, identities, professions and experiences, helping us better understand and represent the communities we serve. We support people to move forward while helping create systems that make moving forward possible.
