We are Nesta, the research and innovation foundation. We use a wide range of innovation methods to design, test and scale new ideas and solutions to the biggest challenges of our time. We are a UK charity and our work is enabled by a financial endowment. We are registered in England and Wales with charity no. 1144091 and in Scotland with no. SC042833.

We help our partners design, fund and scale solutions to complex and enduring social issues. Our pioneering work delivers lasting and widespread change that improves the lives of people and communities in the UK and globally. We’ve been doing this since we created the world’s first social impact bond in 2010 – a totally new approach to funding and delivery, in which investors are repaid only if and when services improve outcomes for people. Today, this is just one aspect of what we do. We have a team of over 120 people, diverse in skills and experiences, united in our passion for making the world a fairer place.

UnLtd's mission is to reach out and unleash the energies of people who can transform the world in which they live. We call these people social entrepreneurs. We are the leading provider of support to social entrepreneurs in the UK and offers the largest such network in the world. We resource nearly 1,000 individuals each year through our core Awards programme. We operate a unique model by investing directly in individuals and offering a complete package of resources; from Awards of funding between £500 and £15,000 to ongoing advice, networking and practical support. We also resource community entrepreneurs to start-up; support those with more established ventures to scale up; and are committed to developing an eco-system of support to make it easier for those who need help to find it.
