Overview The FEI is the world governing body of equestrian sports, overseeing all international equestrian events of Olympic and non-Olympic disciplines: - Founded in 1921 - Oversees 4'250 events - 120'000 registered horses & riders - 8 disciplines - Based in Lausanne Unique Equestrian sport is unique in both its practice as well as its values. It is the only sport in the world that has two athletes - horse and rider – whilst also ensuring both men and women compete against each other on equal terms. Equestrian Australia (EA) is a recognised National Sporting Organisation and the governing body for equestrian sport in Australia. EA offers programs to members from grassroots participation right through to elite. A sport that attracts members aged 6 to 66 years old, equestrian sport appeals to a large cross section of the population. One of the few Olympic sports where men and women compete on equal terms, it is also the only sport that involves two athletes - horse and rider.
