BRIDGES has received the Associated Builders and Contractors of Western Pennsylvania (ABC) "National Excellence in Construction" award for the Greentree Commons Office Building, and received the "National Merit for Excellence" award for the American States Building located in Robinson Township. We have also received several local awards for "Excellence in Construction" through our employment association, ABC. BRIDGES has been voted "Contractor of the Year" eight of the last ten years by members of the Associated Builders and Contractors of Western Pennsylvania. BRIDGES' office is staffed with twenty highly qualified personnel to handle the project management, estimating, scheduling, accounting, and secretarial duties. Our offices are located on the North Side of Pittsburgh and we are centrally located to the surrounding areas. BRIDGES has performed various commercial projects (office and retail), institutional projects (hospitals, nursing homes, personal care), condominiums, student housing, school facilities and light industrial projects utilizing the "partnership team approach. We incorporate sustainable design parameters in all of our projects to the extent that our client's budget and schedule will allow. When appropriate, we work with our clients to help achieve LEED certification. Our commitment is to selective clients to ensure a "hands on" team approach of doing accurate cost projections and helping our clients control their budgets. BRIDGES performs approximately 10% of its annual volume of work for the public sector, and 90% for the private sector. Over the past 24 years, 70% of our work has been a partnering approach, and 30% hard dollar competitive bidding. BRIDGES regularly performs concrete forming and finishing, rough and finish carpentry, masonry, excavation, placement of reinforcing structural steel, and drywall with its own forces. BRIDGES employs over 150 qualified tradesmen and is active in apprenticeship programs certified throughout employment association, ABC. Safety is of the utmost importance on all of our projects and we are proud of the reputation we have in the industry.
