Brett Information

Brett & Julia Mitchell are musicians with a diversity of talent. Their area of expertise is performing jazz, pop and R&B standards. They are proponents for the preservation of the Great American Songbook , music of some of the greatest composers and musicians of the 20th Century. They also love many of the pop tunes of the 70's and 80's, including them in their repertoire. Brett and Julia work with the best musicians on the Central Coast. Brett is the keyboardist with the band Human Nation. The music of Human Nation is diverse and exciting, drawing on the samba of Brazil, urban funk, a touch of Americana and the straight ahead bebop sounds of jazz. On the Bio page, you will find background information on Brett and Julia as well as a list of other musicians with whom they have performed. You may listen to and purchase their CD's on the Music page. Many of their recordings include original compositions. Brett has composed, arranged and orchestrated much of the work. It has a movie-theme style. Julia has also written melody and lyrics for several of the songs. Brett and Julia perform at local area restaurants, hotels and wineries on an ongoing basis.
