The history of Parisian tea rooms is intimately tied to the history of the Ladurée family. It all began in 1862, when Louis Ernest Ladurée, a miller from the southwest of France, founded a bakery in Paris at 16 rue Royale. The story of the Ladurée macaron began in the mid-20th century with Pierre Desfontaines, second cousin of Louis Ernest Ladurée, who had the delicious idea of creating a double macaron, two simple macaron shells joined in the middle by a luscious filling. And the rest, as they say, is history. Today, Ladurée is not only the "Fabricant de Douceurs depuis 1862" (Maker of Sweets since 1862), but also a global company bringing the French Art de Vivre to the world.

With a long standing heritage spanning nearly 100 years we have been producing lovingly handmade cakes since 1926. We are passionate about cakes, food and coffee including our amazing afternoon teas and delivering memorable experiences is at the heart of what we do With 17 stores nationwide and an online delivery service, Patisserie Valerie is available to everyone. We pride ourselves on having an exceptionally talented team across the business who care about our customers and work hard to make every occasion count. We are the home of patisserie.

It started with one café, a small oven and Cécile & Arnaud’s dream of introducing the famous French cookie to New Yorkers. Since 2007, Macaron Paris has expanded to four cafés in Manhattan, a growing e-commerce business and over a hundred retailers across North America.
