The RapidFire system enables researchers to gain a more complete understanding of the biochemical properties of potential lead compounds, including potential liabilities in drug-drug interactions using high-throughput mass spectrometry (MS). RapidFire automated sample processing technology uses innovative microfluidics for an SPE-based solution, enabling detection of native compounds. RapidFire MS is 10 to 100 times faster than conventional MS screening methods. Requiring no labels or surrogates, RapidFire enables the screening of intractable or challenging targets which are not amenable to fluorescence or luminescence. Because we can expect this automated sample purification and mass spec system to provide sample analysis faster than traditional mass spectrometry, RapidFire is a promising tool for fast analysis of clinical samples such as blood, plasma, urine, food, and pesticides. The RapidFire system integrates easily with most manufacturers' mass spectrometry systems. BIOCIUS also markets mass spec instruments for Agilent and AB/Sciex.
