Beldocs Information

Beldocs is an international documentary film festival and year-round platform founded in 2008 and based in Belgrade. The annual festival is at the heart of its work. The 20th Beldocs International Documentary Film Festival will take place from 21 to 27 April 2027 in Belgrade. Beldocs is a European Film Awards qualifying festival. Beldocs presents and supports bold, authentic and creatively ambitious documentary cinema, alongside XR and interactive works. We create opportunities for audiences to discover new perspectives, for filmmakers to present and develop their work, and for people across the documentary field and related creative industries to meet, exchange ideas and build new collaborations. What we do: • Festival – Our annual international festival brings together documentary films, filmmakers, guests and audiences through screenings, talks, special events and new forms of storytelling. • Industry – Beldocs Industry Days is our professional platform for filmmakers, producers and other documentary professionals. It supports new projects and talent and creates opportunities for international exchange, professional development and collaboration. • Education & Youth – Through programmes for young audiences, teachers and emerging creators, Beldocs uses documentary film as a space for learning, critical thinking, participation and exchange. • Year-round activities – Beyond festival week, Beldocs continues its work through screenings, distribution, professional programmes, partnerships and international projects in Belgrade and other communities. We believe in the power of creative documentary cinema to support individual and community growth, encourage critical thinking and exchange, and contribute to a more open and engaged society.
