Bartleby Snopes Literary Magazine and Press publishes short fiction on the web and in print. We are committed to finding and promoting the best new fiction from emerging and established writers. Each month, we publish eight brand new short stories on our website and host a Story of the Month contest. Twice per year, we release a print magazine featuring our favorite stories. Our annual Dialogue Contest has awarded thousands of dollars to writers. We also recently began publishing flash novels in print and e-book. Bartleby Snopes takes its name from two wonderful characters in American Literature. Our inspiration and love for short fiction comes from Herman Melville's Bartleby, The Scrivener and William Faulkner's "Barn Burning."
