Babajim Istanbul Studios & Mastering is a mouthful for a simple quest. Established in 2010 as a recording studio, Babajim’s main reason for existing is to support the music community by providing a space to record, mix and master music. The name Babajim is a Turkish word play on founder Eppie Ozen’s father, Jim Lunsford, a southern folk singer-songwriter and fiddle player who passed away in the late 1970’s. However interpreted, the family atmosphere of Babajim encourages collaboration and exchange amongst the musicians, engineers, producers, graphic and video artists, critics, and music venues. So many of the folks who come and go at Babajim excite others and share their wisdom or humour, musical experience and more. They are all part of a family. The studio has been managed by Reuben de Lautour and Alp Turaç (Kulis Media) until recently, who were there from the onset. After a short break, Tarkan Gözübüyük, Harun Tekin, Ozan Tügen and Cihan Barış have taken over the management in October, 2016.
