Ascope Information

ASEAN Council on Petroleum (ASCOPE) was established in 1975 with its aim to promote active collaboration and mutual assistance in the development of the petroleum resources in the region through joint endeavors in the spirit of equality and partnership. ASCOPE is one of the Sectoral Bodies and Cooperation Platforms in ASEAN Energy Cooperation. It was listed under the Subsector Networks (SSN) and Specialized Energy Bodies (SEB) under the ASEAN Ministers on Energy Meeting (AMEM) and Senior Officials Meeting on Energy (SOME). This body develops and implements the work program and activities under the seven (7) program areas of the APAEC and provides technical recommendations in the areas of specialization and pursue joint and cooperative activities among ASEAN Member States. There are 10 member countries in ASCOPE and be represented by National Oil Company/Ministry (in country's alphabetical order): Ministry of Energy of Brunei Darussalam (Brunei Darussalam), Ministry of Mines and Energy Cambodia (Cambodia), Pertamina (Indonesia), Lao State Fuel Company (Laos), Petronas (Malaysia), Myanma Oil and Gas Enterprise (Myanmar), Philippine National Oil Company (Philippines), Singapore LNG (Singapore), PTT (Thailand), Petrovietnam (Vietnam).
