Aprender Education works with partners to help improve education in places where schools have fewer resources. We believe lasting change happens when we work with local education systems, not around them. We partner with governments, education teams, NGOs, universities and other organisations. They bring local knowledge and experience. We bring training, coaching, school leadership support and practical tools for school improvement. At the heart of our work is the Apto Cascade. It is a simple idea: train people who can train and support others. We train education officers to become coaches. They support head teachers, who then help their teachers improve. In this way, skills and good practice spread from one person to another, reaching more schools and more children. We use a car to explain how the different parts fit together: Teachers are the engine – they drive learning. School leaders are the driver – they guide their schools. Education systems are the wheels – they help schools keep moving forward. Data is the dashboard – it shows us what is working and where help is needed. You need each to be working well for the journey to be successful. The Apto Fellowship adds another important part. Experienced education leaders volunteer their time and skills as Aprender Fellows. They coach local education officers, helping them grow and build capacity. Our training is based on research but designed to be simple, useful and practical. We focus on places where money, technology and internet access may be limited. Partnership is at the heart of everything we do.
