The Appeals Commission for Alberta Workers’ Compensation is a quasi-judicial tribunal operating under the authority of the Workers’ Compensation Act. We are the final level of appeal for decisions made by a review body appointed by the Workers’ Compensation Board (WCB). The Commission works independently from the WCB and reports to the Government of Alberta’s Ministry of Jobs, Economy and Northern Development. Our mission is to understand client needs, guide them through the appeal process, offer user-friendly resources, create a safe and respectful place to be heard, and provide clear, timely, independent and unbiased decisions. The Commission is guided by four values: respect, service, integrity and accountability. The work we do at the Commission is meaningful and rewarding. We are not only dedicated to providing effective public service, but also to creating a positive workplace culture through professional development, social events, work-life balance, and community involvement.
