Alliance for Citizen Directed Supports Information

We are a new international association established in response to a growing need for people with disabilities, their families and the people and organizations that support them to have ways to share ideas and resources. The Alliance advocates for the freedom and civil rights of people with disabilities and takes action against anything that limits opportunity and choice. We are a catalyst to transform segregated approaches/services and to champion innovation. The Alliance is an association of people committed to self-directed supports that offer opportunities for lives of meaning and impact. We are seeking opportunities for people with disabilities to have all the support they want and need for success and to have personal control over: Their budget; Where and with whom they live; How and by whom they are supported, and How and where they work, recreate, worship, volunteer and otherwise participate fully in the communities of their choice. We proudly support and seek to include everyone who is committed to ensuring that people with disabilities exercise their rights and live fully included lives of their own design. The Alliance will offer an active, inclusive online community and in-person opportunities to collect and share knowledge, ideas and practices to advance individually designed, implemented, controlled and evaluated services and supports.
