A small retirement housing cooperative, Springton Lake Village is owned by its residents. Day-to-day operation is handled by a full-time management team that works closely with the resident board of directors. Residents purchase an equity ownership share and belong to the housing association. The equity share is an asset that can be transferred to a qualified successor. Residents pay a monthly fee, which covers premier services for all residents, including chef-prepared meals four nights each week, and exterior home maintenance. As a legal housing cooperative, we are owned by the members and governed by an elected resident board of directors. The cooperative is motivated above all by service to the members, not by profit. Here's how Equity Ownership works at Springton Lake Village: A fully refundable deposit holds a spot on the Priority Waiting List. There are no entrance fees. When a home is available, you purchase a share in the community. Once you are a resident, your monthly maintenance fee is pooled to provide services for you and for the whole retirement community. The Association maintains your home's exterior (lawn and garden, snow removal, roof repair or replacement, stucco, driveways, etc.), and interior systems including heating and air conditioning, home security, gas fireplace, and community shared spaces. Group buying power allows the Association to provide services for the whole community at favorable costs. The Association assists with home sales and maintains a Priority Waiting List when you are ready to sell. The Association ensures order and decorum is maintained in all homes.
