Our mission is to bring science to life for kids across Alberta through hands-on activities and to provide educators with tools and resources to get kids excited about science. Our vision is a world where Alberta students are inspired by science and have fun discovering its relevance to everyday life. We were formed through a merger of the Calgary Science Network, the Edmonton Science Outreach network, and the Alberta Science Literacy Association. As such, we have been uniquely Albertan for just under 30 years. Our volunteers have reached hundreds of thousands of students across the province during this time, sharing their passion for science. We provide 2 main services: -Scientists and Engineers in the Classroom, where deliver engaging, hands-on classroom presentations. -Science Teacher Workshops, where we supply teachers with the tools they need to make their science classes more relevant and exciting for their students. Please visit our new website at www.albertasciencenetwork.ca to learn more about us and to become part of our exciting future.
