Akili Group Information

Since 2010 The Akili Group has been empowering small-scale farmers in rural Kenya in creating and adding value to their produce. We partner with small-scale producers in value adding activities and programmes at a personal and community level. Our vision is to be a catalyst for wealth creation at the community level, and to upgrade the capacities of members of community to realize profit at farm level and for groups (cooperatives; self-help groups; community investment groups) from small-scale agricultural activities. Our mission is to co-invest with communities and social investors, donors and government to realize improved production efficiencies, volume (aggregation) and value addition benefits through an entire value chain approach. We facilitate access to knowledge, tools, inputs and management capacity in the implementation of profitable and sustainable agri-business activities through aggregation, value addition and optimisation of production and processing efficiencies at farm level and at the group/coop levels.
