When a project tells a story and leads to change, it’s meant to rouse the spirits and stay in time.. This is what the designer Anna Maria Mongillo has done when founding her own label āim, started from an intuition that has literally gave a new life to the classic idea of bag, that now becomes a unique accessory made to stay. This story begins in a flea market where Anna Maria, by chance, sought from hundreds of other old pieces a vintage bag handle that immediately suggested her a tale of perfect balance, where harmony meets strength and determination. This way, being “found”, rather than “planned”, became the key element and the bedrock of Anna Maria's new, first solo design project, based on the responsible concept of waste avoidance and reuse of beautiful, precious, leather leftovers that resulted from overproduction to create not just something new but, moreover, something unexpected and unique. All bags by āim are about real renaissance that is contemporary, thanks to the constant search of beauty. With her strong background working as a designer for global brands accessories, today Anna Maria creates her own bag collections that standout for their essential aesthetic, exquisite Made in Italy craftmanship and product longevity, with the purpose of walking with time and not chasing seasonality.
