Fincantieri S.p.A., together with its subsidiaries, engages in the design and construction of merchant and naval vessels. It offers cruise ships, such as post-panamax and panamax ships, and medium-small luxury vessels or ships for voyages; merchant ships, including chemical tankers, gas carriers, and RoRos; ferries for passengers and vehicles; and naval vessels, which include surface ships, aircraft carriers, frigates, corvettes, patrol vessels, support ships, and submarines. The company also develops and builds naval systems, such as stabilizers, and solutions and components for propulsion and power generation; and industrial turbines and diesel engines for marine and industrial applications. In addition, it provides ship repairs and conversions for passenger ships and offshore vessels. Fincantieri S.p.A. was formerly known as Societ Finanziaria Cantieri Navali - Fincantieri S.p.A.
