501st UK Garrison Information

Founded in 2000 by the late Graham Campbell, the UK Garrison (UKG) has grown from a small group of Star Wars costuming fans into the very large and well‐organised costuming club that it is today with over 500 members based all over England, Scotland and Wales. We are a part of the worldwide 501st Legion. The UKG membership is made up of passionate volunteers who fund and create their own costumes, adhering to the minute detail required to ensure they are ‘movie accurate’, and who endeavour to stay in character whenever wearing them. We are an Imperial costuming club covering the 'bad' guys of the Star Wars universe such as Darth Vader, Stormtroopers and Kylo Ren. We are very proud of our charity work, which underpins what we do and why we do it. The UKG is a not‐for‐profit organisation. When we attend non-commercial events that will benefit a good cause we ask for nothing in return beyond the knowledge that we brought some smiles to faces and hopefully helped any fundraising on the day. 100% of the money we raise from attending corporate, marketing and promotional events is shared among various charities supported by the UKG and its members. Since our inception, we have attended thousands of events ranging from charity fundraisers, community events, hospital and hospice visits, weddings, funerals and parties for children going through tough times to store promotions, film premieres, comic conventions and DVD and video game releases. We have granted many wishes for some very special children on behalf of the Make‐A‐Wish Foundation and are also official providers of volunteer services for Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children.
