We started our adventure in 1994 to bring customers the knowledge and gear to explore the great outdoors. Who works here? Fun, friendly people who don’t want a desk job. Karl Tucker had a vision for an outdoor store that carried the brands and gear that he loved, way back when he was a 26-year-old working behind a desk. He had a passion for the outdoors, from hiking and climbing to camping and fishing. And he knew he wasn’t alone. So he started Earth’s Edge in downtown Grand Haven with just outdoor clothing, hiking boots, tents, sleeping bags and a variety of camping accessories in just a few hundred square feet of retail space. Now over 25 years later, the original retail space could easily fit in the footwear section of today’s store! Not only is the space much bigger, but the variety of products and gear has expanded to include footwear of all kinds for men, women and kids; water-based activities like paddle-boarding, canoeing and kayaking; racks and luggage including installation services; you really have to come visit the store to understand the breadth and depth of it all!
