Zoetic Data, Inc. Information

Zoetic Data, Inc., is a San Francisco-based tech startup formed in March 2104. We started as a member of the University of California’s QB3 Incubator, with a team made up of a U.C. Berkeley Ph.D., an independent software engineer, and graduates of Lowell High School. The Urban Dashboard app for personalized environmental data, for iOS and Android, offers basic geomapped environmental data combined with an interactive feature with which the user can add his or her own data. The Urban Dashboard can help users to track a wide variety of environmental and personal measures- such as mood, energy levels, and reactions to the weather, air quality, and allergens. These personal data measures may be emailed to registered users as excel or csv files. DIY and citizen scientists can use the self-tracking option to enter local environmental or other data, and measure this against these factors. We originally introduced the Urban Dashboard and then realized that the environmental data on which it was based was inadequately geographically specific. In response to discussions with users, we retrenched. Currently, we're starting locally but thinking globally (cliched but true). The IoTh and Citizen Science movements, as well as EPA and related agencies such as the Bay Area Air Quality Management District, have contributed greatly to low-cost but accurate air quality sensors. As a resident member of the ManyLabs hackerspace in 2016-2017, we're working on the establishment of a denser network of intra-urban air quality monitors in San Francisco's eastern neighborhoods. We plan to link the sensors to the Urban Dashboard and begin to expand the environmental data offerings and alerts offered during 2017. This will allow us to address clear public concern with environmental conditions and to provide a meaningful iteration of Urban Dashboard/ Zoetic Data's mission: providing environmental data for your life.
