ZINQAP was established in 1998 as an organisation, as an initiative of the University of Zimbabwe Medical School, to provide External Quality Assessment Services (EQA) / Proficiency Testing (PT) to laboratories in Zimbabwe. Over the years we have grown and now provide an internationally recognised PT service, training and mentorship as well as consultancy in Quality Systems. ZINQAP is governed by a Board of Trustees; which is the organisation's highest decision making body. The ZINQAP Board is comprised of experts drawn from key stakeholders in laboratory services, medicine and quality fraternities. A team of qualified and motivated professionals with competencies in PT service provision, training and mentorship and Quality Systems are responsible for the day to day operations of ZINQAP. ZINQAP was selected to serve as a Southern Africa Development Community (SADC) Regional Centre of Excellence (RCE) in Quality Systems. As a SADC RCE, ZINQAP is mandated to support laboratory Quality Assurance initiatives in the 15 SADC Member States.
