Die Interkantonale Hochschule für Heilpädagogik (HfH) lehrt, bearbeitet und antizipiert heil- und sonderpädagogische Fragen und Themen in Aus- und Weiterbildung, Forschung und Entwicklung sowie Dienstleistungen in engem Kontakt mit der Praxis. Interkantonal und lokal verankert, national und international vernetzt, gestaltet die HfH das Bildungssystem mit dem Ziel: Bildung für Alle, damit Partizipation am gesellschaftlichen Leben für alle zur Realität wird. Die HfH führt ein einzigartiges Angebot an wissenschaftlich fundierten und praxisorientierten Studiengängen im Bereich heilpädagogische Lehrberufe und pädagogisch-therapeutische Berufe. Rund 1300 Personen studieren in den Bachelor- und Masterstudiengängen und bilden sich für unterschiedliche Aufgaben und Funktionen der heilpädagogischen Praxis aus. It is science based, practice oriented, and broad based. The mandate and mission of the university is education, continuing education, research and development, and services. The University of Teacher Education in Special Needs is based in Zurich, Switzerland, and employs approximately 180 staff.

Basel Historical Museum with its three sites is widely regarded as the most important museum of cultural history on the Upper Rhine. It collects, conserves, records and researches objects and artefacts of relevance to our cultural heritage for future generations, tells visitors the story of Basel, and is a place for discourse and engagement with the past, present and future.
