WHY Digital identity is an indispensable necessity in a progressively digital world. Without a digital identity consumers can’t access the right digital services and digital service providers can’t trust consumers. WHAT We create digital identities for people and connect them with targeted services, starting with e-health & digital finance. HOW Access In collaboration with Microsoft, the Government of Rwanda and Carnegie Mellon University Africa (CMU), we will create a digital identity for millions of Rwandan patients who use ZAKA’s clinic check-in app. Connect Connect people who now have rich digital identities directly to relevant services. Scale Replicate ZAKA across Africa, becoming the continent’s leading platform for digital identity and service aggregation. USE CASE A Rwandan mother of three and farmer creates a ZAKA eHealth profile for herself and her children during a visit to a community health clinic. Using non-health data, ZAKA connects her to digital financial services that she might find useful. She is offered a long-term savings account for her children, loans that support her to buy farming inputs and learning materials for her daughter's secondary school, and an insurance package that supports her children in the case of her injury or loss of life.
