The Zagreb Computer Association (ZRS) was founded in 1998 with its headquarters at Ilica 53. As a non-profit association, ZRS continues the work of the Zagreb Informatics Association (ZIS), founded in 1995. ZRS gathers children and young people to popularize programming and encourage giftedness. The main activities are workshops, preparations, viken acceleration and camps. An additional incentive for improvement are numerous educational competitions in the programming languages C/C++, Python and Logo, through which participants are motivated for later entry into the world of engineering and scientific programming. The contribution of ZRS to the results of young programmers has been noticed both in Zagreb and in the Republic of Croatia. The association was awarded the highest honors of the City of Zagreb, the CITY OF ZAGREB Award and Medal. In November 2021, an invitational lecture was held for the prestigious association ACAP, and ZRS received the support of the Ministry of Science and Education for the realization of the project Center of Young Developers, as its life mission. In February 2024, the ZRSOBIT festival of programming excellence, the first in the history of Croatia, was held in the "Vijenac" hall. In addition to numerous awards for the achievements of male and female programmers, awards for non-computer scientists of the year were given to Zlatko Dalić, Dino Jelusić, commander of the humanitarian convoy "White Road for Nova Bila and Bosna Srebrena" Herman Vukušić and scientist Vlatka Vukelic.
