Youth Suicide Prevention Ireland Information

Youth Suicide Prevention Ireland works directly with schools and colleges to provide face to face mental health awareness and suicide prevention training directly to students. We also provide crisis support and access to free counselling. YSPI - Saving Lives Through Education. As part of our integrated approach to youth suicide prevention the charity also provides: * Training programmes for teachers, lecturers and youth workers; * Comprehensive follow-up services for schools including lesson plans, teacher guides, media guidelines, crisis management and more; * Parent / local awareness meetings to provide community focus and liaison; * Freetext crisis information service responding to up to 2000 information requests per week; * Online crisis information resources at ineedhelp.ie, covering immediate assistance, support groups, national helplines and safety zones; * Access to free crisis counselling services for at-risk and priority students. Youth Suicide Prevention Ireland celebrated its 10th anniversary in December 2017, and in our 10 years of operation we have never received any state funding. We are looking to develop new relationships with businesses and corporations around the country, and in the Irish communities around the world, that would like to work with us to support and fund our life saving programmes through 2018 and beyond. Over the last three years we have increased the numbers of students reached through our programmes while reducing the cost of the programmes on per student basis. In terms of value for money YSPI have exceeded our own internal targets every year so that our administration costs are only 9% as of 1st November 2017 This means that for every €1 we receive we are able to apply 91c towards youth suicide awareness and prevention.
