Youth MOVE Maine Information

Youth MOVE Maine is a statewide, regionally based youth and young adult-driven organization dedicated to ensuring that all young people have a say in the decisions that impact their lives. YMM supports young people’s efforts to improve policies in mental health, juvenile justice, and other systems of care, build skills for youth-adult partnerships and take leadership in raising awareness that makes a difference in others’ lives and in their communities. Youth MOVE Maine supports youth in facing challenging situations in their lives by implementing peer-support services, creative expression projects, and programs designed to increase life, leadership and advocacy skills. Youth MOVE Maine is continually working to establish positive relationships with state agencies including the Maine Department of Corrections, Office of Child and Family Services, and other systems that work with youth. Youth MOVE Maine adopts a variety of philosophies that are based in peer support, being trauma-informed, as well as youth-driven.
