Youth Intervention Programs Association Information

YIPA is out to change the world. Waiting for our at-risk youth to fall through the cracks is simply not sustainable. Its costs are too high for the youth and to us as a society. YIPA advocates for Youth Intervention, an approach with proven outcomes and a documented social return on investment. Youth Intervention takes our likely consumers of public services and turns them into life-long contributors to the common good. It saves taxpayer dollars, improves public safety and prepares our future labor force to keep us competitive. When our youth thrive, we all win. YIPA does not directly serve youth, rather we serve the Youth Intervention professionals and organizations that do. We organize and mobilize support for Youth Intervention programs. Our mission is simple: “Ensure that Youth Intervention programs are supported in their communities and they have the resources they need to provide high quality and cost effective intervention services for youth.” We have two core services: Professional Development – Through YIPA’s MyYouthPro, we offer a 21st century model of professional development that meets the needs of today’s Youth Intervention organizations and workers. Legislative Advocacy – We successfully advocate for Youth Intervention funding for programs throughout Minnesota and the world. Youth Intervention is clearly a better way. And YIPA is driving the changes needed to make sure that quality Youth Intervention services are easily accessible to families and youth no matter where they live.
