Youth Direct Information

http://www.youthdirect.org.uk/ YouthDirect is a career site promoting entry level jobs primarily for young people. We operate as a social enterprise meaning that we reinvest income to help fund schemes to tackle youth unemployment. We are different to other career sites in that we are launching an app which young people can download and get notified on job alerts based on the location of their smartphone. The History: The site was created and launched by a two young people, Edouard Payne and Rasheed Rollins, and it was there to address the need that 80% of young people access the internet on their smartphone yet there is no tailored way to search for jobs on these devices. The site aims to be operated and maintained by young people as much as possible and 6 months after being launched. The site attracts around 50,000 unique visitors a month and currently hosts hundreds of jobs in all sectors.
