However, after its first international trip to Haiti in 2011, the organization expanded its work to initiating fundraisers and promoting outreach to the youth in local communities. After having 2 successful fundraisers, the YAP team was able to raise over $48,000, enough for our partner organization in Haiti (Global Family Philanthropy) to transport medical equipment and subsequently establish an ongoing medical clinic in Ouanaminte, Haiti. Youth Against Poverty has also partnered with Compass Family Services in raising funds for the homeless in the San Francisco area. In 2013, YAP has collaborated a joint fundraiser with ShoebizSF in which we raised over $25,000 towards helping children who come from homeless, working families in San Francisco, as well as donating 123 pairs of shoes to these children.
