Youth 180, Inc. Information

Youth 180 is a nonprofit organization based in Dallas, Texas. Our mission is to help youth find the path to a healthy and productive life. We provide prevention and intervention programs teach young people healthy coping skills and steer them away from drugs, alcohol and disruptive behaviors. Working primarily with economically disadvantaged children and teens in North Texas, Youth 180 encourages a sense of hope for the future, teaches facts and skills that help young people know how to cope with adversity, and helps youth find strength in the communities of which they are a part. Programs include the following: (1) Substance misuse prevention and intervention curricula for youth ages 7-17 in schools, apartment complexes, and community centers. (2) State Licensed adolescent outpatient substance abuse treatment program for teens ages 13-17. The program includes individual, group and family counseling from our staff, as well as recovery support services for those who graduate from the program. (3) Educational classes for youth ages 10–24 who have been referred by schools, courts or their own families for issues such as truancy, theft, drinking and driving, and anger management and aggression issues. Parents attend classes with their children in most of these programs.
