At Outward Bound our goal is simple: to unlock the potential in New Zealanders from all walks of life. From adults to young people in education or apprentices in the workplace, we aspire to show our participants what they are truly capable of achieving.
To do so, we use the mountains, bush and waterways of the Marlborough Sounds as a catalyst for building character and cultivating life-long transferable skills. Through the challenge and adventure of an Outward Bound course, we’ve helped more than 70,000 Kiwis to push their boundaries, improve their resilience and ultimately, find their future direction. As a result, they return home with increased confidence, more capable at home, at school or in the workplace.
As a non-profit learning and development organisation, we rely on the generosity of our donors to ensure the Outward Bound experience remains accessible to all, regardless of financial circumstance.
Sport New Zealand promotes, encourages and supports sport and physical recreation to enrich the lives of New Zealanders. We passionately believe in the benefits and power of sport – for the enjoyment it brings, the satisfaction of achievement, and the pride we feel as a nation when our athletes succeed. We work with a range of organisations and people who share this passion, to create a world-class sports system at all levels – from grass roots to high performance - which will encourage more Kiwis to participate, and reap the benefits of a life-long involvement in sport.
We aim to foster an informed and engaged online community, where everyone can be part of constructive conversation about sport and recreation in New Zealand.
We welcome questions and commentary, including constructive feedback and differing opinions, however please ensure your comments are relevant and respectful. Differences of opinion are okay; personal attacks are not.
