YIMBA provides legal, commercial management and consulting services on; infrastructure, construction, transport, mining, energy, resources, renewables, environment, planning, Indigenous Business, land access, native title, land claims, cultural heritage, RAPs, ESG and dispute resolution. YIMBA’s founder and Managing Director, Damien Barnes, has extensive legal, commercial and civil engineering experience working with; King & Wood Mallesons, DLA Piper, UGL, CB&I, O'Donnell Griffin, Power Minerals, NTSCorp and local & state government. Damien has an Executive MBA, LLB, B.Eng (Civil) and Grad. Cert. in Indigenous Leadership. YIMBA is 100% Indigenous owned, managed and controlled by Damien Barnes. Damien is a Bidjara man from central QLD with family connections to Woorabinda QLD. “YIMBA” is a Bidjara word which means: “listen, know and understand”. Damien believes it's crucial for Indigenous Australians to listen, know and understand Australian society, in particular the business sector, in order to thrive. YIMBA seeks to listen, know and understand its clients' business to provide tailored quality advice.
