YGAM Innovation Limited provides formally accredited, corporate training products and services to minimise gambling-related harm. As a trading subsidiary to the UK-Registered Charity, the Young Gamblers Education Trust (known as YGAM), all profits generated are used to further YGAM’s social purpose. YGAM Innovation Limited is proud to be working with a wide range of stakeholders including Pearson (formally known as Edexcel); the global leader in education, to develop a suite of formal qualifications specifically in minimising gambling-related harm. Sold commercially, our training products and services will equip those working within the gambling and health sectors specifically with the formal training and certification to further demonstrate a commitment to harm-minimisation. The first qualification to be developed, piloted and evaluated will be a Level 2 in Safeguarding and Harm Minimisation which will comprise several units of learning including: Identifying Problem Gamblers - Signposting & Aftercare; Safeguarding & Customer care; Risk Management & Harm Minimisation; Understanding Motivations for Gambling. This qualification will comprise up to 120 Guided Learning Hours (GLH) and be delivered and assessed using a variety of methods including classroom, in-work assessment, group discussion, practical activity, written evidence and e-learning. We envisage it will take up to six-months to develop, pilot and evaluate this qualification thoroughly. Depending upon the success, YGAM Innovation Limited intends to develop qualifications at Level 3, 4 and 5, providing formal qualifications at all levels and working collaboratively across different sectors and jurisdictions to minimise gambling-related harm and prioritise safeguarding.
