YabberChat.com Information

YabberChat.com is a community chat site set up in 1997 to be the first chat site community for the Asia-Pacific region and more specifically Australia & New Zealand. Since that time we have seen thousands of people join our little chat making it the biggest chat site in the region. Our aim is to provide a place where anyone can come for time-out, a good chat or to meet someone new. The word "Yabber" is an Australian slang term for idol chat, the word comes from Wuywurung (The Aboriginal language of southeast Australia) yaba, meaning "to talk". HOW DID YABBERCHAT GET HERE? YabberChat was built by hard work put in by so many people over the years. Some people providing design or content, others providing their time by monitoring the rooms and passing out the word about the great free service we provide. Special thanks should be given to Daniel Walton for his work on the chat software as well as some other programming work on the website over the years. Sysop's also deserve a special thanks as they have put in so much work over the years. I would like to be able to mention every past Sysop however there are so many it would be impossible to name everyone. WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE INVOLVED? YabberChat is a community site and is built on the hard work of many people. If you have some ideas, or would like to help out please contact us and offer. Help is always appreciated and is given credit for where possible. If you have skills in design, programming, marketing or writing content we would be glad to hear more about how you can add to our site.
