We’re the Australian Conservation Foundation, Australia’s national environment organisation. Since 1965, we’ve protected the nature we all love – our unique wildlife and our beautiful beaches and bush. Driven by the power of people, we won World Heritage listing for the Great Barrier Reef and Kakadu National Park, and returned precious water to the rivers of the Murray-Darling. We influence governments and businesses to protect the animals, rivers and reefs close to our hearts and hold decision-makers to account without fear or favour. Everything we do is evidence-based and helps nature and people thrive for generations to come. We won’t give up until Australia’s nature is protected and regenerated. Nature needs us, now. Our Community is where Australia's not-for-profits and schools go for help. A multi-award-winning social enterprise, Our Community is the Centre for Excellence for the nation's 600,000 not-for-profit organisations and schools, providing advice, tools, resources and training. Our Community helps community groups & schools deal with their challenges by providing practical products and services to strengthen the community sector. We do this by helping community organisations & schools find new funds, members, staff and board/commitee members. Our Community also runs GiveNow, the Funding Centre, Institute of Community Directors Australia (ICDA), the Communities in Control conference and the SmartyGrants grantmaking platform.

Our vision is a more generous and inclusive Australia. Our purpose is to inspire more and better philanthropy. As the peak body we serve a community of funders, social investors and social change agents working to achieve positive social, cultural, environmental and community change by leveraging their financial assets and influence. Informed, independent and with reach and credibility, Philanthropy Australia gives our members a collective voice and ability to influence and shape the future of the sector and advance philanthropy. The philanthropic community comes together through Philanthropy Australia to build its collective voice; research and leadership; networks and collaboration; professional learning and resources and; information and data exchange. Our membership consists of approximately 800 trusts, foundations, organisations, families, individual donors, corporates, professional advisors, intermediaries and not-for-profit organisations.
