The same holds true for updating information on the mainframe and iSeries; if data can be simply entered by a user and then a mainframe process is executed (utilizing proprietary IPA - Innovative Process Automation); then the data can be passed to OpenLayer via a REST API to execute the job on the mainframe. All of this would occur with no risk to the integrity of the transaction as OpenLayer simply acts as a virtual user and only receives or passes data as a user would be using the existing business logic. The integrity and security of the server transaction would remain completely intact.
