The idea behind establishing the School of Communications is basically aimed at training students for the media industry on professional lines using a well-equipped studio at the School. The programs at the School offer hands-on approach that allows students to experience the full range of technical expertise, conceptual skills and artistic expression that are required to become accomplished practitioners of the electronic media and teachers. The School of Communications was established on July 2, 2015 to train students as media professionals in India. It has professional audio studios, studio floor, online TV Production set-up, edit suites lab and professional training in top high-end software in the industry like Final Cut Pro, Avid Media Composer, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, Dreamweaver, Maya and InDesign besides offering training in 4C+ and Quark XPress. Besides the qualified in-house faculty , visiting faculty for the School are drawn from both academics and industry. The visiting faculty are basically from the media industry coming from different disciplines of Film, Television, Journalism, Advertising and Public Relations. The School of Communications conducts International Conference and Symposium every alternate years respectively. Workshops and industry talks are held on a regular basis to supplement academic activities held at the school. Film, Photo and Art Exhibitions are conducted to showcase student works and accomplishments. Student outbound learning and visits to media houses will be undertaken as per the course requirement. Number of faculty from the industry will be invited to take some specialized courses to put the students on a different platform while studying in the School.
