Xbat.ai is a joint venture between Sortbat (www.sortbat.be) and VITO (www.vito.be), created to transform how portable batteries and battery packs are handled at end-of-first-life. Our patented technology combines three assets: X-ray imaging, Artificial Intelligence, and decades of real-world battery sorting experience. Four strategic pillars: 🔬 Technological innovation The world's most advanced battery sorting machine: accurate, semi-automated identification and sorting of both portable cells AND battery packs (power tools, LMT, e-bikes, garden tools…) — regardless of shape, size or chemistry (Li-ion, NiMH, alkaline…). Throughput: 2.4 t/h, accuracy: 98–99%, fire-safe by design. 🤝 Commercial deployment with Smiths Detection Our technology is commercialized globally through our partnership with Smiths Detection, world leader in X-ray detection for security and industrial applications.
