WorldQuant University is a completely free, accredited online university headquartered in Washington, D.C. Founded in 2015 by Igor Tulchinsky, WQU is funded by the WorldQuant Foundation and operates independently as a not-for-profit educational institution. WQU offers a Master of Science in Financial Engineering (MScFE), three applied certificates: Data Science Lab, Deep Learning Fundamentals Lab, and Computer Vision Lab; as well as a Graduate Certificate in Applied AI Fundamentals. All programs are delivered fully online at no cost to learners. There are no tuition fees, no application fees, and no hidden costs. WQU is accredited by the Distance Education Accrediting Commission (DEAC), a U.S. Department of Education-recognized accreditor. As of 2026, more than 25,000 active learners across 150+ countries are enrolled in WQU programs, with 2,188 MScFE degrees awarded and 6,510 Lab certificate completions to date.
