World Vision Timor-Leste (WVTL) is a proud member of the global World Vision International partnership, dedicated to community development, humanitarian aid, and advocacy. Our mission is “Labarik saudavel no foinsa’e empoderadu ba komunidade forte” - Healthy children and empowered youth for strong communities. World Vision has been present in Timor-Leste since 1995 and is now active in six municipalities: Aileu, Baucau, Bobonaro, Covalima, Oecusse, and Manatuto. With a dedicated team of 148 staff members and an annual budget of US$ 5.6 million in the FY23, we strive to achieve our strategic objectives across seven key sectors: Advocacy, Safeguarding, and Child Protection Maternal, Child Health, and Nutrition Adolescent and Youth Empowerment Gender Equality, Disability, and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) Agriculture and Economic Development Environmental Sustainability, Climate Action, and Carbon (ESCA) Humanitarian Emergency Affairs (HEA) We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our major donors , for their unwavering support in supporting us achieve these objectives. Nestled in Southeast Asia and Oceania, Timor-Leste is home to 1.3 million people, with 46% of the population under the age of 14. Unfortunately, nearly 42% of Timorese live below the global poverty line, resulting in child stunting rates that are the third highest in the world.
