Worldpackers is a global community of conscientious travelers and hosts. Since 2014, we’ve facilitated thousands of unique experiences and connections, with the aim of making the world more socially and environmentally sustainable. Our platform has facilitated more than 140,000 exchanges – that’s 1.8 million hours dedicated to projects making social and environmental impacts in more than 140 countries.

We envision a world made better by travel and travel made richer by connection. Couchsurfers share their lives with the people they encounter, fostering cultural exchange and mutual respect. Couchsurfing is the world's premier social travel platform, with over 25 million members in nearly every country in the world. Couchsurfing changes people's lives. Hearing the stories of Couchsurfers whose lives have been transformed by travel is the greatest reward for doing what we do.

Projects Abroad was founded in 1992 by Dr. Peter Slowe, a geography lecturer, as a programme for students to travel and work while taking a break from full-time study. The programme started in Romania, where students were given the chance to teach conversational English. After a few years just sending volunteers to Eastern Europe for teaching, the company expanded to sending volunteers of all ages around the world on a wide range of projects. Projects Abroad is a global leader in short-term international volunteer programmes with projects in 28 countries and recruitment offices in the UK, Australia, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Holland, Hong Kong, South Africa, South Korea, Sweden and the United States.
