Established in 1956, Singapore American School (SAS) is an independent, non-profit, co-educational day school offering an American-based curriculum for preschool through grade 12 expatriate students. Located on thirty-six acres in the Woodlands area of Singapore, the purpose-built school includes state-of-the-art facilities for students at all grade levels. Over 50 different nationalities are represented among the 3,900 students attending SAS. UWC South East Asia (UWCSEA) is a K–12 international school in Singapore and part of the global UWC movement, united by a shared mission to make education a force to unite people, nations and cultures for peace and a sustainable future. The English National Curriculum provides the basis for study which is enriched to reflect the calibre of students and the school's international setting. As students progress through Key Stages 3 to 5, they are presented with a widening choice of subjects to choose from for their GCSE and A Level examinations. At Sixth Form students have the choice to study for A Level or the International Baccalaureate Diploma. Tanglin also has a strong emphasis on sports and performing arts, with well-established choirs, orchestras and concerts. Students can take part in a wide array of interesting lunch-time and after-school activities, co-curricular activities and challenging residential field studies to enrich their learning experience.
