The former Convent of the Good Shepherd, this ex-monastic site is now owned by the Abbotsford Convent Foundation (ACF), a not-for-profit organisation that operates the Abbotsford Convent on behalf of the public. We are home to over 100 studios, two galleries, cafes, a radio station, a school, and an abundance of green open space and every year we welcome a diverse range of art projects, rehearsals, workshops, exhibitions, markets, events and festivals. The Boatbuilders Yard is a waterfront bar and café located in South Wharf that brings a new style of relaxed and informal European-style eating and drinking to Melbourne. We've got a huge beer garden conveniently located next to Polly Woodside and the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre. The Boatbuilders Yard is positioned at the top of the South Wharf Promenade 10 minutes from Melbourne's CBD. The venue has spectacular views of the city and excellent function spaces perfect for: Corporate functions Christmas parties Birthday parties Engagement parties Product launches Wedding receptions Play Bocce or sit in a deck chair with an ice cold drink. We're all about relaxing and taking it easy! The Boatbuilders Yard is open 7 days a week from 7am Monday to Thursday and 8am Saturday and Sunday until late.
