Co-presidents Elisa Rice (pictured left) and Leah Dennis (pictured right) created WFI as an answer to the perceived lack of successful women filmmakers in the industry - and also women composers - by strengthening the women's filmmaking community on the collegiate level in Boston. In addition to facilitating meaningful networking across the various schools in the area, WFI seeks to create conversations about the unique challenges women face and how students can better prepare to face those challenges once they graduate and enter the industry.
