Hope is essential to survival, and opportunity is essential to hope. Through its development programs, Path From Poverty (PFP) provides economic opportunity to women living in rural Kenya. It all begins when women form a group with local PFP leaders, discuss their needs, determine a financial goal and begin saving. While 95% of Women’s Groups first save for rainwater catchment tanks, others save for solar panels and additional income generating projects. PFP contributes a matching financial gift towards these projects as well as providing leadership, health and vocational training. PFP Women’s Groups meet on a regular basis to encourage each other, discuss how to earn and save money and eventually become leaders for their families and communities. Ultimately, PFP Women’s Groups are able to design their own development projects and bring themselves out of poverty. Path From Poverty currently contributes to the following development projects: Clean water - 10,000L water tanks Solar power - panels, chargers & utility packs Education Scholarships Leadership Training Our Impact 1,800 Homes Since the year 2000, PFP has helped provide rainwater catchment tanks to over 1,800 rural Kenyan homes. 20,000 Lives In partnership with our Kenyan Women’s Groups, PFP has positively impacted over 20,000 people on their journey out of poverty. Solar Power Kenyan Women’s Groups and PFP have seen the positive impact of solar energy in homes and small businesses. We proudly support solar projects for all our Women’s Groups. Education Hundreds of children have been given the opportunity for education because of larger family incomes created by access to clean water and sustainable energy.
