The Wildlife Rehabilitation Center of Minnesota (WRC) is the busiest independent wildlife rehabilitation center in the world, admitting over 25,000 animals annually. WRC's mission is to rehabilitate and release our wild animal patients back into the wild. WRC is a non-profit organization that has a staff of 45 and relies greatly on the efforts of volunteers and interns during the busy summer months. Our opportunities provide hands-on experience working with wildlife as they heal and prepare to re-enter life in the wild.
Wolf Haven International is a nationally recognized wolf sanctuary that has rescued and provided a lifetime home for over 300 displaced, captive-born animals since 1982 under the mission “to conserve and protect wolves and their habitat.”
Many of the wolves and wolfdogs that are relocated to Wolf Haven come from private ownership, while others come from zoos, roadside attractions, and other unfortunate situations. Our wolves are given exceptional care, quality food, a variety of enrichment items, and progressive medical treatment. We also offer educational programs about wolves and other wildlife, promote wolf restoration in historical ranges, and work to protect wild wolves and their habitat.
Wolf Haven is accredited by both the Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries and the American Sanctuary Association.
